ABOUT ME

Duncan Stevenson

I created Tinto Countryside Management Solutions following twenty eight years experience in this sector with the National Trust for Scotland. Prior to that I worked for Birmingham District Council within their parks and countryside team, helping introduce and develop a ranger service within the council.

During my dynamic and varied career, I have gained thorough knowledge and first-hand experience in all aspects relating to managing the countryside. I have comprehensive understanding of the opportunities and threats involved in managing various habitats, species and landscapes. Being involved in countryside management for over thirty years has provided me with a breadth of experience in liaison with communities, landowners and land management interest groups.

My career in countryside management with the National Trust for Scotland began as a volunteer moving onto working with and developing Individual volunteers and groups over many years. I have organised and delivered training to both staff and volunteers on subjects ranging from leading guided walks and path auditing through to bird identification and tree safety inspections.

Having a NEBOSH Health & Safety General Certificate has enabled me to coordinate a safe working environment, particularly in relation to countryside activities.

Tinto Countryside Management Solutions has £2 million Professional Indemnity and £2 million General Liability insurance cover.
